The choristers looked and sounded great today. We were working on an ending to a piece with “Hosanna in excelsis” and they blew me away with how easy it sounded up so high.
Pictured below is one of my favorite warm ups for the voice and body, the Solfege Shake. It makes a lot of odd meters and the goal is only four “do’s” at the end. Ask your chorister to show you how it’s done. Taking roll themselves is not always accurate! Good thing I recognize most of the choristers by now and can mark them as here. What does it mean when you wear ear muffs to choir?
