Orchard Children’s Choir
How can we keep from singing? We can't! Join the virtual Orchard Children's Choir. Choir won't be the same this year, but we will still make music. Here is the process:
Space is limited and this year it is free! Open to students in grades 4-6. Maximum 75 choristers. Sign up on the Signup Genius no later than October 12. Recordings will be due at the end of November. You will need access to a recording device and another device to play the rehearsal track while you sing along. Minimal parental involvement, but necessary to fulfill recording commitment. Recording needs to be horizontal (landscape). Students learn the music by rote so they can look directly at the camera when recording. Opportunities for full choir and solos. Two pieces will be selected from the following folk songs: Funiculi Funicula; Siyahamba; Kokoleoko; Mama Don't Allow; and Scarborough Fair. We will possibly sing In the Arms of An Old Oak by Andy Beck. To preview some of the music check out these YouTube videos.
